Based on the TEDS (Taiwan Emission Data System), the emission of phases 1 to 3 is higher than others in mobile pollution sources. In order to reduce the emission, MOENV takes international experience as reference to propose the subsidizations, like replacing large old diesel vehicles, repairing fuel injection systems, and installing air pollution control equipment on large diesel vehicles. Among these measures, a vehicle can receive up to 650 thousand dollars for replacing the old one, up to 150 thousand dollars for installing air pollution control equipment and up to 100 thousand dollars for repairing fuel injection systems. Incentives also include subsidies for purchasing new vehicles and interests on bank loans, credit guarantee when purchasing vehicles to lower the vehicle price. For credit guarantee, applicants who apply will be eligible for 90% of the loan credit guarantee and preferential interest rates provided by the Department after the verification. For interest subsidy, applicants can be eligible for a 1% loan interest subsidy tops after the verification.
We anticipate that it will accelerate the reduction of air pollution and reduce the burden through the above multiple subsidizations program, and enhancing the willingness of vehicle owners to improve pollutions simultaneously.
