To reduce the pollution emissions of old motorcycles, MOENV has been providing subsidies to people who purchase new low pollution motorcycles to replace their old motorcycles produced before June 2007. Low pollution motorcycles include electric motorcycle or new gas-powered scooter as satisfactory Taiwan’s 2022 emission standards. Estimation of the total number of retired old motorcycles will exceed 1,730,000 over the past two years by the end of 2022.
